Parent-Agent National ID Linking for Sub-agents
Who this is for: sub-agents who do not yet have their own National ID card, and the parent agents who sponsor them.
What you will get from it: an approved way for a sub-agent to meet the identity requirement, with the parent agent's agreement on record.
Many young and rural sub-agents are still waiting on a National ID card. Without a verified identity a withdrawal cannot be sent. Rather than leaving earned commission unreachable, Welile allows a sub-agent's account to be linked to their parent agent's National ID — with that agent's consent and an operations review.
Before you start
The sub-agent needs:
- an active Welile account with a verified phone number;
- a real working relationship with the parent agent, who actually recruited them.
The parent agent needs:
- their own verified National ID on their account;
- their registered phone with them, to receive a code;
- the app open, to give consent.
How the link is made
- The sub-agent enters the parent agent's NIN in their own identity section. The app recognises that it already belongs to an account and offers the linking route instead of refusing it.
- A code is sent to the parent agent's phone by SMS. The parent agent reads it to the sub-agent, who enters it.
- The parent agent confirms in their own app. A request appears in their account for them to approve or decline. That decision is theirs; nobody else can make it for them.
- Operations review it. The Welile team checks the request before it is granted.
- The link is applied to the sub-agent's account, and the identity requirement is met.
What the link does
It satisfies one of the requirements for withdrawing: identity. Everything else still applies — a verified payout number in the sub-agent's own name, an account in good standing, the collection requirement, the minimum amount, and any overdue advance repayments.
See withdraw your money. An approved link does not bypass the rest.
What the link does not do
- It does not transfer the parent agent's account, balances or earnings.
- It does not let the sub-agent act as the parent agent.
- It does not permit use of the parent agent's identity anywhere else, on Welile or off it.
- It does not replace getting a National ID. Once the sub-agent has their own card, their own NIN should go on their account.
For parent agents: what you are agreeing to
Your identity is being attached to somebody else's account. Treat the request the way you would treat signing for them.
- Approve only for people you personally recruited, know, and can vouch for.
- Approve only when they are with you, or you have spoken to them and they are expecting it.
- Decline anything you did not expect, and tell support.
The Service Centre tab shows the status of every link under your ID, so you can see who is attached to you.
Read it out only to the sub-agent you are deliberately approving, at the moment you are approving them.
Nobody should ever ask you for your account password, your Mobile Money PIN or your sign-in codes — not a colleague, not a caller claiming to be from Welile, not anybody promising to release money. Those are different things entirely, and Welile does not ask for them.
Common problems
The code has not arrived. Check the parent agent's registered number is the phone they are holding, and that it has network. Request the code again rather than guessing at digits.
The parent agent did not see the request. It appears when they open the app. Ask them to sign in and check.
The review is taking time. It is a human check. Keep working — collections and listings do not depend on it. Contact support if it stays unresolved.
