How to Repay Your Welile Rent Plan

There are two ways to pay: hand the money to your Welile agent, or pay Welile directly with the merchant code.

Both are official. You are not tied to your agent — paying directly is fine, and your agent relationship is still recognised.

Paying through your agent

The agent who registered you, or who collects in your area, takes your payment in person.

  1. Give them the amount you are paying. Count it with them.
  2. Wait while they record it. They enter it on their phone against your plan there and then.
  3. Check your message. Welile sends you a confirmation showing what was received and your new balance.

Do not leave before it is recorded. If the network is poor, wait with them until it goes through, or agree what happens if it does not.

If no message arrives within a reasonable time, contact the agent first, then Welile support.

Paying directly with the merchant code

You can pay Welile yourself, without waiting for an agent.

Welile's merchant accounts are registered to WELILE TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED.

MTN Mobile Money: dial *165*3# and use merchant code 090777.

Airtel Money: dial *185*9# and use merchant code 4380664.

  1. Dial the code for your network.
  2. Enter the Welile merchant code above.
  3. Check the name shown reads WELILE TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED before you continue. If it shows a person's name or anything else, cancel.
  4. Enter the amount.
  5. Approve with your Mobile Money PIN.

Pay from the phone number on your Welile account. That number is how your payment is matched to your plan. Paying from a friend's phone makes it much harder to allocate.

Keep the confirmation SMS from MTN or Airtel. It is the proof if anything needs tracing.

A note about banks

Bank deposits are not the recommended way to make an ordinary repayment. A bank transfer is not matched to your plan automatically the way Mobile Money is, so your balance may not update when you expect.

Use your agent or the merchant code for repayments.

Staying safe

  • Use only the merchant codes on this page or the ones shown in the app, and only when the name reads WELILE TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED.
  • Never send a repayment to a personal phone number, whoever asks and whatever they say about their role.
  • Welile will never ask for your Mobile Money PIN or your password.
  • Keep your confirmation messages.

See account and security.

What happens after you pay

Your payment goes against your plan and your balance drops. Welile sends you a message confirming what was received and what remains.

Your money always settles your oldest unpaid day first, then works forward — so if you were behind, your payment catches up the oldest day before today's.

If a payment does not show up

  1. Check your Mobile Money confirmation message — no message means the money did not leave.
  2. Check you paid the right merchant code.
  3. Check you paid from your registered number.
  4. Give it a little time; Mobile Money can lag.
  5. If it still has not appeared, contact support with the transaction reference, the amount and the time.

Do not pay a second time while the first is being traced. See a payment has not arrived.
