What a Welile Rent Request Is

A rent request is your application for Welile to pay your landlord. It carries your details, your home, your landlord, your LC1 chairperson, and the plan you chose.

You do not submit it separately from registering — the registration form is the rent request. When you finish that form, your request is in.

Who can submit one

You can, at welileapp.com/tenants-onboarding. Or a Welile agent can submit it with you.

Either way the request contains the same information and goes through the same checks.

What it contains

  • Your rent and your plan — the amount, your repayment period, and whether you repay daily or weekly.
  • You — your name, phone number, National ID, your photo and a photo of your ID.
  • Your home — the house type, address, village, district, photos and your location.
  • Your landlord — their name and the phone number Welile will call.
  • Your LC1 chairperson — their name, phone number and letter where you have one.

What you see before submitting

Your rent, the access fee, the request fee, your total repayment and your instalment. Check them before you confirm — see how your rent repayment is calculated.

Five stages people confuse

Keeping these apart saves a lot of worry:

  1. Registered — you have a Welile account. Nothing has been applied for yet on its own.
  2. Request submitted — your application is in and has a reference. Nothing has been paid.
  3. Approved — the checks passed. Still nothing paid.
  4. Rent paid — your landlord has received the money.
  5. Active rent plan — your repayments have begun, starting the day after your landlord was paid.

Never tell your landlord the rent is settled until stage 4 has actually happened.

What happens next

Welile reviews the request. See review and approval.
