How to Withdraw Your Money from Welile

Who this is for: anyone taking their own money out of their Welile wallet — agents withdrawing commissions, partners, and other users with a withdrawable balance.

What you will get from it: the full list of what has to be in place first, so a withdrawal is not refused at the last step.

What you can withdraw

Only your withdrawable balance — money that is yours.

Agents: operational float and landlord float cannot be withdrawn. They are company money held for specific work, and they are excluded from the amount available to you. See understand your balances.

What has to be in place first

Welile checks all of these. They are platform requirements, and they apply together — meeting one does not cover the others.

1. Your identity is verified

A verified National ID (NIN) on your profile. See National ID verification.

Sub-agents without their own National ID card can instead hold an approved, parent-consented ID link — see parent-agent ID linking.

An approved ID link clears one requirement, not all of them

Getting the identity requirement met is the first gate, not the only one. Every other requirement on this page still applies exactly as it does to everybody else.

2. Your payout number is verified

The Mobile Money number money will be sent to — MTN or Airtel — has to be verified by SMS code and registered in your own legal name.

A number in somebody else's name will not do, even a relative's. If the name on the Mobile Money line is not yours, the withdrawal cannot be sent there.

3. Your account is in good standing

The account must not be frozen and must have no open review against it. If there is one, you will see a notice on your dashboard — see a commission is missing.

4. Agents: today's collection requirement

This applies to agents who have active tenants in repayment. If that is you, you need to have collected at least 20% of what was expected from your tenants today before a withdrawal is released.

Your dashboard shows where you stand against today's target. Once you cross it, the block lifts by itself — there is nothing to apply for. See the daily collection rule.

The reason is straightforward: service the tenants you already have before taking earnings out.

5. New accounts have a daily limit

An account 30 days old or younger can withdraw up to UGX 50,000 per day.

After that, with a normal transaction history behind you, the standard limits apply. There is nothing to request.

6. The minimum withdrawal is UGX 5,000

Requests below UGX 5,000 are refused. If your balance is under that, keep earning — or, if you are an agent who needs working capital rather than cash, move it into float instead.

7. Overdue advance repayments come first

If you hold a working capital advance with an overdue instalment, the past-due amount is recovered from your withdrawable balance before the rest is released to you.

The money is not lost — it has paid down what you owed. Your advance repayment history on the Money tab shows it.

Which of these apply to you

  • Everyone: verified identity, a verified payout number in your own name, an account in good standing, the new-account daily limit while your account is new, and the UGX 5,000 minimum.
  • Agents only: today's collection requirement, and advance recovery if you hold an advance.

If you are a tenant, a landlord or a partner, the collection requirement does not apply to you.

How to withdraw

  1. Tap Withdraw on your balance card.
  2. Enter the amount. Your available balance is shown — float and money held in custody are not part of it.
  3. Choose the destination: your MTN Mobile Money number, your Airtel Money number, or your bank account.
  4. Review the charges. The sending charge is shown before you confirm, so you can see what will actually reach you.
  5. Confirm.

What happens next

Your withdrawal is queued for settlement. It is then sent to your destination, either automatically or through a nearby Merchant Agent who pays it out.

Queued is not received

A request that has been accepted is a request in progress. Wait for the Mobile Money confirmation on your phone before you treat the money as yours to spend, and before you tell anybody else it has been sent.

How to check the outcome

Watch the withdrawal in your statement, and look for the Mobile Money confirmation message on your phone. Where the two disagree, the statement is the record — and it is what support works from, so quoting it makes any conversation faster.

Agents also have a card showing what they have earned since their last withdrawal, which is a quick way to see what is new without reading the whole statement.

Why an amount may be less than you expected

An advance repayment came out first. See requirement 7 above, and check your repayment history.

The sending charge. It is deducted from what is sent, and shown to you before you confirm.

You are looking at float. Float is not withdrawable. Check which balance the figure belongs to.

A collection is still being reconciled. If two field collections carry the same reference, the app flags it for you to clear, and commission tied to that collection is released once the conflict is resolved.

Common problems

The Withdraw button will not let me continue. The app names the requirement that is not met. Work down the list above rather than trying again.

My identity is verified but it still will not go through. Identity is one of seven requirements. Check the other six.

The money has not arrived. Check the statement first, then see a payment has not arrived.

I am an agent and cannot withdraw although I have earnings. Almost always today's collection requirement. Go and collect; the block lifts on its own.
