How to Move Earnings into Operational Float

Who this is for: Welile agents with earnings in their withdrawable balance.

What you will get from it: working float, immediately, without walking to a Mobile Money agent and without paying cash-out or cash-in charges.

When this helps​

  • A tenant is in front of you with cash and your float is finished.
  • You would rather put today's commissions back to work than cash them out.
  • You want to keep moving instead of breaking your round to go and deposit.

Before you start​

  • The money is in your withdrawable balance — your own earnings.
  • You want at least UGX 1,000 moved. That is the documented minimum for a single move.

Where to find it​

Open the Money tab on your agent dashboard and find the card for moving your balance to float.

How to move it​

  1. Open the Money tab.
  2. Tap the card for moving your balance to float.
  3. Enter the amount — at least UGX 1,000.
  4. Confirm.

What it costs​

Nothing. This is a move between two of your own balances inside Welile, so there is no telecom charge and no Welile charge. That is the reason to use it instead of withdrawing cash and depositing it again, which costs you twice.

What happens next​

The money moves straight away: your withdrawable balance goes down, your operational float goes up by the same amount, and you can collect again immediately.

How to check it worked​

Both figures change on your balance card. Your statement shows both sides of the move — the amount leaving one balance and arriving in the other — so you can always see where an amount went.

This only works one way​

Earnings can become float. Float cannot become earnings.

Float is company money, and once it sits in the float bucket it stays there until it is used for company work. There is no reverse move — so shift across what you are comfortable having working in the field, not everything you have.
