How to Deposit Operational Float

Who this is for: Welile agents.

What you will get from it: float in your account, ready to clear tenant instalments and take field collections.

Keep enough float for the day ahead. If a tenant hands you cash and your float is empty, you cannot clear their instalment on the spot.

Before you start​

  • You are signed in to your agent account.
  • You have the phone registered on that account.
  • You are banking money for company work — cash collected from tenants, or your own money you are putting to work.

Choose the right purpose first​

This is the step that matters most. When you tap Deposit, the app asks what the money is for.

  • Cash collected from tenants, or funds for field work — choose operational float.
  • Your own money going into your own earnings — choose the personal option.

Choosing the personal option for company money puts float into your withdrawable balance, and correcting it takes support time. See understand your balances if the distinction is new to you.

By MTN Mobile Money​

  1. Tap Deposit on your balance card and choose operational float.
  2. Dial *165*3# and enter Welile's merchant code 090777.
  3. Check the name reads WELILE TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED.
  4. Enter the amount and approve with your Mobile Money PIN.

By Airtel Money​

  1. Tap Deposit on your balance card and choose operational float.
  2. Dial *185*9# and enter Welile's merchant code 4380664.
  3. Check the name reads WELILE TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED.
  4. Enter the amount and approve with your Mobile Money PIN.

Mobile Money needs no transaction ID​

You do not need to enter a transaction ID. Pay from the number registered on your agent account, or give that number as the reference, and the deposit is matched and credited to your float automatically. Watch your float balance — it updates by itself.

Keep the confirmation SMS. You will only need it if something goes wrong.

By Equity Bank​

For amounts above your daily Mobile Money limit, transfer to Welile's Equity Bank account — the full bank details are here — and put your registered phone number in the narration.

Bank transfers are not matched automatically. The finance team verifies the transfer against the bank statement and then credits your float, so allow more time than Mobile Money takes and do not send twice.

From your own earnings​

If you have commissions sitting in your withdrawable balance, move them straight across instead of cashing out and paying in again. It is instant and there are no charges. See move earnings into float.

This is the fastest option when you run dry mid-round.

How to check it worked​

Your float figure on the balance card goes up, and the deposit appears in your statement. You do not need to refresh.

If the float has not landed​

Give Mobile Money a few minutes first, then see a payment has not arrived. That article covers the repair tool on the Money tab, which you can run yourself with the transaction reference.

Do not pay again while the first payment is being traced.
