Sub-agent Earnings
Who this is for: sub-agents, and parent agents explaining earnings to their team.
What you will get from it: what you earn, what your parent agent earns alongside you, and why the two are not in competition.
You earn from the same activities as any Field Agent. The rates and the qualifying conditions are the same, and they are documented once, in Field Agent Commissions — read that page for the amounts.
This page covers only what is different for a sub-agent.
What you earn
The same list: collecting repayments, registering tenants whose plans are funded, listing houses that get verified, placing tenants in houses you listed, verifying landlords, onboarding LC1 Chairpersons, and referrals.
Each amount and each condition is on the Field Agent Commissions page.
How a collection commission is split
The commission on a repayment collection is 10%, and when a sub-agent collects it is shared:
- 8% to you, for taking the payment.
- 2% to your parent agent, as a recruiter override.
Your 8% is not reduced by their 2% — both come out of the same 10%.
What your parent agent's 2% is for
Recruiting you, training you, reviewing every Rent Request you submit before it reaches head office, and sponsoring your service centre. It is the cost of having somebody above you who knows your area and answers the phone when a tenant situation goes wrong.
They also earn a separate amount when a house you listed is verified, which likewise does not come out of your own listing reward.
Why your commission is smaller than an independent agent's
An independent agent collecting from their own tenant keeps the full 10% — and has nobody reviewing their work, nobody to call, and no override arriving from anyone else's collections.
That is the trade, and it is worth reviewing honestly once you have your own paying portfolio. See your team and service centre for what it takes to recruit your own team and start earning overrides yourself.
Check the figure on your screen
The app shows the exact shilling amount credited to you on each collection before you confirm it, and your statement is the record afterwards.
If a credited amount does not match what you expected, contact support with the tenant, the date and the amount — do not settle it by argument with a colleague.
When an earning has not appeared
Work through a commission is missing. Two causes hit sub-agents more than most:
- A cash collection that has not been confirmed. Commission waits until the cash settles into company custody.
- A team split you were not expecting.
Check your statement first.
Getting your earnings out
Earnings land in your withdrawable balance, and a withdrawal has its own requirements. If you do not yet have your own National ID card, read parent-agent ID linking — identity is one of those requirements, and the link satisfies that one only.
See what you need before you can withdraw for the rest.
