What you will get from it: the two earnings available to the role, and what has to happen before either is paid.

Both are tied to capital that has actually been activated. Neither is paid on a commitment.

Activating a portfolio​

What earns it: a Supporter you brought on commits capital through a Promissory Note, and that capital is funded into an active rental portfolio.

2% of the principal actually activated.

What has to happen first: activation. The note being recorded, signed or agreed is not the trigger — the capital being funded into a live portfolio is. See Promissory Notes.

This is a one-off earning for that portfolio's original activation.

Topping up a portfolio​

What earns it: a Supporter whose portfolio you activated adds further capital to that same active portfolio.

1% of the new capital added.

What has to happen first: the same condition — the top-up has to be activated in the portfolio, not merely agreed.

There is no limit stated on how often a Supporter may top up. Each activated top-up is treated separately.

Why the two rates differ​

The activation rate is higher because winning the commitment in the first place is the harder work. The top-up rate is lower but recurring: it keeps paying you for staying with a Supporter as they grow what they have deployed, instead of paying you only once and moving on.

When an earning has not appeared​

  1. Check whether the capital was actually activated, or only committed. A recorded note on its own earns nothing.
  2. Check your statement for the entry and read its description.
  3. Check which balance you are looking at — earnings land in your withdrawable balance.
  4. Check for an overdue advance repayment, which is settled from incoming earnings first.
  5. If none of that explains it, contact support with the Supporter, the portfolio, the date and the amount.
