What Happens After a Welile Promissory Note Is Created
A note begins as pending and becomes activated once the committed money is actually there.
Pending
The commitment is recorded and nothing has arrived yet.
While a note is pending:
- it sits in your notes list;
- any earmarked houses are held for seven days;
- you have earned nothing.
This is the stage that needs you. A pending note is a conversation you have not finished. Follow it up while the partner still remembers agreeing.
Activated
The money is there and the note is live. Your note shows how much has been collected against it, which matters for a monthly commitment where collections build up over time.
This is the point at which the capital can be put to work — and putting it to work is what earns you the 2%. See what you earn.
How the partner's portfolio fits in
The partner's portfolio is their record of capital actually working — the amount, the agreed rate, the term, the return method and the payout dates.
The note is your record of the commitment; the portfolio is theirs of the money. Once their capital is placed, it is the portfolio they will be asking you about, and Partner Help explains every figure on it.
If nobody ever supports the note
Nothing bad happens to you, but nothing good does either. The note stays pending, the houses are released when their seven days run out, and you have earned nothing.
Two things worth doing:
- Follow it up rather than leaving it. A note has space for a follow-up note and a follow-up date — use them.
- Do not create a second note for the same commitment. It does not improve the odds and it makes the record harder to read.

What is not documented here
The messages sent when a note is created, activated, or a partner joins have not been confirmed for publication. Ask support what to expect so you know whether you have missed something, rather than assuming a silent note means an inactive one.
