Your Team and Your Service Centre

Who this is for: Field Agents who have recruited sub-agents, or who are working towards a Service Centre.

What you will get from it: what your team's numbers mean, what you owe your sub-agents, and what the Service Centre milestone actually requires.

Where to find it

The Service Centre tab on your dashboard. Your progress towards qualifying also appears as a card on the Home tab.

Your sub-agents

The sub-agents panel lists everyone you recruited, and for each of them:

  • how many active tenants they are managing;
  • what they collected today;
  • what their work has earned you in recruiter overrides.

Read it as a coaching tool rather than a scoreboard. A sub-agent with tenants but no collections today needs a phone call, not a note in your records — their arrears eventually become your portfolio's problem too.

To add someone to your team, see onboarding or referring a sub-agent.

What a parent agent is responsible for

You are not their employer, but you are why they are on the platform. The role carries real work:

  • Training. Photographs, spotting a landlord who cannot be verified, handling arrears without losing the tenant.
  • Reviewing their submissions before they reach head office — see below.
  • Answering the phone. You are their first line of support for field judgement, because you know the area and you answer faster than anyone else can.
  • Consenting to a National ID link, where a sub-agent has no card of their own.

The overrides you earn are payment for that work: 2% of every repayment they collect, and UGX 2,000 for each house of theirs that is verified. Neither is deducted from what the sub-agent earns.

An agent who recruits ten sub-agents and trains none of them ends up with ten quiet portfolios, and 2% of nothing is nothing.

Reviewing your sub-agents' submissions

A Rent Request posted by one of your sub-agents comes to you first. You are the person who can tell whether a landlord is genuinely known in that village.

What to look at:

  1. The photos — clear enough, and of the right person and the right house.
  2. The landlord — known locally, and the details are the owner's, not a caretaker's standing in for them.
  3. The rent figure — realistic for that kind of house in that area.
  4. The location — sitting where the address says it is.

Once you approve it, the request goes on to head office, where the agent operations check begins. Your approval is a first review, not the final decision — see following a Rent Request.

Send it back rather than passing on something you would not submit yourself. A problem you catch never becomes a rejection, and the sub-agent learns from it.

National ID linking for your team

Welile allows one primary owner per National ID: the first account to register it owns it. A sub-agent who does not yet have their own card can be linked under yours, with your consent and an operations review.

The National ID card on this tab shows the status of every link under your ID.

The full process — the code, your in-app consent, the review, and what the link does and does not allow — is in parent-agent ID linking. Read it before you approve your first one: you are consenting to something real.

The Service Centre milestone

A Welile Service Centre is a branded physical office in a busy community, funded by the company — the rent, the branding and signage, the furniture and the stationery.

It is a walk-in hub rather than a private office. Tenants come in to make cash repayments, landlords come in to register properties, and new sub-agents get their training there in person.

What qualifying requires

The current agent programme describes three conditions:

  • 20 or more active repaying tenants.
  • 90% or better collection efficiency.
  • An active recruited team working under you.

The card on your dashboard tracks your live progress towards them.

Check the card, not this page

Programme milestones change. Where your dashboard card differs from the figures above, the card is right.

There is no application to submit and no opening timetable published — the milestone is tracked on your account. If you believe you have met it, raise it with your Welile contact or support rather than waiting for a notification.

The pattern behind all three is the same: a Service Centre goes to agents with a real, paying, well-served portfolio — not to whoever has the largest number of registrations.
