Field Agent Commissions
Who this is for: Field Agents and sub-agents doing field work.
What you will get from it: what each activity earns, and the condition that has to be met before it reaches your money.
Most of what you earn comes from collecting, day after day. The rest comes from bringing good tenants, houses and people onto the platform.
Where to see your earnings
The earnings summary on the Home tab shows what is available now, what you earned this week, and your total. Every individual amount, with its description, is in your statement.
The amounts on this page come from the current Welile agent programme. Rates, bonuses and qualifying rules change with campaigns, targets and location, and not every earning applies to every agent.
Where your dashboard, your statement or an official programme message differs from this page, follow them — not a figure a colleague quoted you.
Collecting repayments
What earns it: taking a repayment from a tenant on an active Rent Plan.
This is your steady income and the largest share of what most agents earn. It is paid on every repayment, not on a monthly total, so a portfolio that pays daily earns you daily.
The commission is 10% of the repayment you collect, worked out on each payment as you take it.
If you are a Field Agent — an Operational Agent — collecting from your own tenant, the whole 10% is yours. That holds whether or not you have sub-agents of your own: nobody takes an override from a collection you made yourself.
If you are a sub-agent, that 10% is shared with the parent agent who recruited and supports you:
- 8% to you, the agent who actually took the payment.
- 2% to your parent agent, as a recruiter override.
The parent agent's 2% is not deducted from your 8% — both come out of the same 10% on that collection.
For example: on a repayment of UGX 5,000, the commission is UGX 500. A Field Agent collecting from their own tenant receives the whole UGX 500. Where a sub-agent collected, they receive UGX 400 and their parent agent receives UGX 100.
When it reaches you: as soon as the collection is confirmed. A cash collection that has not yet been confirmed into company custody is held until it settles — see a commission is missing.
The app shows the exact shilling amount for each collection — the payment, the landlord's portion and your share — before you confirm it. Use that figure rather than working it out yourself, and treat your statement as the record afterwards.
Registering a tenant
What earns it: a tenant you registered whose Rent Plan is approved and funded.
- UGX 10,000 where the monthly rent is UGX 200,000 or less.
- UGX 20,000 where the monthly rent is above UGX 200,000.
When it reaches you: after the plan has been through review and funded — not when you press submit. See following a Rent Request.
Listing a house
What earns it: a property you listed that the landlord operations team verifies.
UGX 2,000 for each verified listing.
When it reaches you: once the listing is verified, not when you submit it. A listing that fails verification does not earn. See listing a house.
A sub-agent's verified listing
What earns it: a sub-agent you recruited lists a house and it is verified.
UGX 2,000 to you as their parent agent, in addition to what the sub-agent earns for the listing itself.
Placing a tenant in a house you listed
What earns it: a tenant moves into a property you listed and their Rent Plan is funded.
UGX 5,000 to UGX 10,000, depending on the placement.
When it reaches you: once that tenant's plan is funded.
Paying a landlord
What earns it: handing a funded Rent Plan's rent to the property owner and completing the evidence.
UGX 5,000 for each landlord payment you facilitate. It is separate from registration bonuses and collection commission, and it is there for your transport, your time and the care the payout takes.
When it reaches you: after the landlord's confirmation code has been entered. Until then the payout's record is incomplete and the earning is not released. See pay a landlord.
Verifying a landlord
What earns it: verifying a property owner and their ownership in person.
UGX 2,000 for each verification.
Onboarding an LC1 Chairperson
What earns it: bringing a village LC1 Chairperson onto the platform with verified contact details, or linking one who was not yet verified.
UGX 2,000 to UGX 5,000.
Referring someone
What earns it: a new user — a tenant, a landlord or a junior agent — registering through your referral link or code.
UGX 500 for each referred account.
When it reaches you: on registration of the referred account.
Collecting a business advance
What earns it: collecting a repayment from a tenant who is repaying business working capital, rather than rent.
4% of each instalment you collect.
Managing a property through Welile Homes
What earns it: managing rent collection on behalf of a property owner.
2% of the monthly rent you collect for them.
Earnings that belong to other agent roles
These are not Field Agent earnings. They are documented where the role is:
- Activating and topping up Supporter capital — see Proxy Agent commissions.
- Paying out other users' withdrawals as cash — see Merchant Agents.
Holding one role does not give you the earnings of another.
When earnings become money you can take out
Commission is credited to your withdrawable balance — your own money, separate from your float.
Being credited is not the same as being withdrawable, though. A withdrawal has its own requirements, and an overdue advance repayment is settled from incoming earnings before the rest reaches you. See:
If a commission seems missing
Work through a commission is missing. It covers the six causes in order: an advance repayment, float rather than earnings, a team split, an unconfirmed cash collection, an incomplete landlord payment, and an account restriction.
Check your statement before you call anyone — the answer is usually in it.
Earning honestly
Do not create tenants, houses, payments, referrals or sub-agent activity that do not exist in order to generate commission.
Every entry is tied to a real person, a real house and a real payment, and the records are checked against each other. Beyond the risk to your own account, invented activity corrupts the collection and behaviour records that real tenants depend on to build their financial identity.
