Who Uses Welile?
Welile is built as an ecosystem.
Different people use the platform for different reasons, and the tools available to each person can depend on their role.
The main participant groups are tenants, landlords, agents, sub-agents, and partners.
I am a…
Tenants
A tenant is a person who occupies or pays rent for a property within a rental relationship.
A tenant's Welile experience can involve relevant features such as:
- onboarding;
- rental information;
- payment activity;
- receipts;
- balances;
- repayment information where applicable;
- rental history;
- support;
- other approved tenant services.
A tenant's rental activity can also contribute to the structured behavioural history Welile is designed to build.

Landlords
A landlord is a property owner or authorised property manager participating in a rental relationship.
A landlord's Welile experience can involve relevant features such as:
- properties;
- tenants;
- rent activity;
- receipts;
- wallet activity where applicable;
- payment information;
- rental records;
- agent relationships;
- operational support.
Welile helps organise rental relationships so landlords can have clearer digital records of relevant activity.

Agents
Agents help support rental activity within the Welile ecosystem.
Depending on their assigned role and permissions, an agent may work with:
- landlords;
- tenants;
- sub-agents;
- properties;
- rent requests;
- collections;
- locations;
- records;
- operational follow-up.
Agents can act as an important operational bridge between Welile and rental communities.

Sub-agents
Sub-agents operate under an agent structure.
Their role can include supporting local onboarding, property activity, tenant relationships, landlord relationships, or other assigned operations.
The actions available to a sub-agent depend on their permissions and the structure under which they operate.
Sub-agent documentation is kept inside the agent section, so go to Agent Help.
Partners
Partners are people or organisations participating in approved Welile partnership programmes.
Partner functionality can differ from rental-user functionality.
Depending on the programme, a partner may have access to information and tools related to:
- their partnership account;
- approved portfolios or programmes;
- transactions;
- balances;
- returns or earnings where applicable;
- deposits or withdrawals where applicable;
- agreements;
- support.
Specific partner terms should always be explained in the relevant programme documentation and agreement.

Can one person have more than one role?
In some situations, a person may participate in Welile in more than one capacity.
For example, someone may interact with the platform as a landlord while also participating in another approved role.
Access, permissions, records, and dashboards should still follow the rules associated with each role.
Why roles matter
Roles help Welile determine:
- what a user can see;
- what a user can do;
- which records belong to that user;
- which workflows apply;
- which support information is relevant;
- which permissions are required.
This is why the Help Center is also organised by role.
